Capture & Annotate Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Capture & Annotate is a Chrome extension that captures the visible area of a browser tab, lets the user add annotations (pen, shapes, arrows, text, callouts, pasted images), organizes captures into local projects, and supports sharing via download, clipboard, or the Web Share API. All processing occurs within the user's browser; no captured image, project data, or usage information is transmitted to any external server.

2. Data the Extension Handles

The extension handles only the following data, and only on the user's device:

• Screenshots of browser tabs that the user explicitly captures via the keyboard shortcut or the Side Panel button. The visible area is read through the official chrome.tabs.captureVisibleTab API.
• Annotations the user draws on those screenshots (pen strokes, shapes, arrows, text, callouts, pasted images).
• Project metadata such as project names and the currently selected project.
• UI preferences such as locale, color presets, and tool defaults.
• The extension does not access personally identifiable information such as name, address, email address, password, browsing history, or any page content beyond what the user explicitly captures.

3. Where Data Is Stored

All data is stored locally in the user's browser:

• Screenshots and annotations — IndexedDB
• Project metadata and UI preferences — chrome.storage.local

No data is transmitted to Concept Art Technologies, Inc., Google, or any third party. The extension does not perform any network communication for its core functionality.

4. Purpose of Use

The data is used solely to provide the extension's features — display, edit, and re-edit of past captures; grouping captures into projects; restoration of user preferences across sessions. We do not share, sell, or transfer the data to third parties, use it for advertising, profiling, or creditworthiness determination.

5. Chrome Permissions

The extension requests the following permissions; each is used only for its stated purpose:

• activeTab — capture the visible area of the currently active tab when the user triggers the keyboard shortcut.
• storage — persist project metadata and UI preferences.
• downloads — save annotated screenshots as PNG files to the user's Downloads folder when the user clicks Download.
• scripting — inject a small helper for clipboard / Web Share fallback paths when the user triggers a share action.
• sidePanel — render the main UI in Chrome's Side Panel.
• <all_urls> (optional host permission) — requested at runtime only when the user clicks Capture in the Side Panel, so that chrome.tabs.captureVisibleTab can read the visible tab. The keyboard-shortcut path does not require this permission.

6. Data Deletion

Data persists on the user's device until the user removes it. Users can delete data by any of the following:

• Deleting captures or projects from the Side Panel UI.
• Clearing site data for the extension from chrome://settings/content/all.
• Uninstalling the extension through Chrome, which removes its chrome.storage.local and IndexedDB databases.

7. Third-Party Services

The extension uses no third-party services, SDKs, analytics, ad networks, or tracking tools. Its only network interaction is with Chrome's built-in APIs.

8. Children's Privacy

The extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from any user.

1. 概要

Capture & Annotate は、ブラウザの表示領域をキャプチャし、ペン・矩形・ 矢印・テキスト・吹き出し・画像貼り付け等の注釈を加え、プロジェクト単位で 整理し、ダウンロード／クリップボード／Web Share API による共有を行う Chrome 拡張機能です。すべての処理はユーザーのブラウザ内で完結し、 キャプチャ画像・プロジェクトデータ・利用情報を外部サーバーへ送信することは 一切ありません。

2. 取得するデータ

本拡張機能は以下のデータのみを、ユーザーの端末内でのみ取扱います。

• ユーザーがショートカットキーまたはサイドパネルのボタンで明示的にキャプチャした ブラウザタブのスクリーンショット。 表示領域は公式 API chrome.tabs.captureVisibleTab を介して取得します。
• ユーザーがスクリーンショット上に描画した注釈 （ペンストローク、矩形、矢印、テキスト、吹き出し、貼り付け画像）。
• プロジェクト名・現在選択中のプロジェクト等の プロジェクトメタデータ。
• 言語設定・カラープリセット・ツールデフォルト等の UI 設定。
• 氏名・住所・メールアドレス・パスワード・閲覧履歴、および ユーザーが明示的にキャプチャしたページ以外のページコンテンツは 一切取得しません。

3. 保存先

すべてのデータはユーザーのブラウザ内にローカル保存されます。

• スクリーンショット・注釈 — IndexedDB
• プロジェクトメタデータ・UI 設定 — chrome.storage.local

Concept Art Technologies, Inc. のサーバー、Google、第三者へデータを送信することは ありません。本拡張機能のコア機能はネットワーク通信を一切行いません。

4. 利用目的

取得したデータは、本拡張機能の機能提供（過去のキャプチャの表示・編集・再編集、 プロジェクト単位での整理、セッションをまたいだ利用者設定の復元）のみを目的として 利用します。第三者への提供・販売・転送、広告利用、プロファイリング、 信用力判定への利用は一切行いません。

5. Chrome 権限について

本拡張機能は以下の権限を要求し、それぞれ記載の目的にのみ使用します。

• activeTab — ショートカットキー実行時に、現在アクティブなタブの表示領域をキャプチャするため。
• storage — プロジェクトメタデータと UI 設定の保存。
• downloads — ユーザーがダウンロードボタンを押した際、注釈付きスクリーンショットを PNG として 端末のダウンロードフォルダに保存するため。
• scripting — ユーザーが共有操作を行った際に、クリップボード／Web Share の補助コードを 差し込むため。
• sidePanel — Chrome サイドパネルにメイン UI を表示するため。
• <all_urls>（optional host permission） — ユーザーがサイドパネルのキャプチャボタンを押したタイミングで初めて要求します。 chrome.tabs.captureVisibleTab で 現在の表示タブを読み取るために必要です。ショートカット経由のキャプチャでは 本権限は不要です。

6. データの削除

データは利用者の端末上にのみ保存され、利用者が削除するまで保持されます。 以下のいずれかの方法で削除できます。

• サイドパネル UI からキャプチャまたはプロジェクトを削除する。
• chrome://settings/content/all から本拡張機能のサイトデータを削除する。
• Chrome の拡張機能アンインストール操作により、chrome.storage.local および IndexedDB のデータが削除されます。

7. 第三者サービスについて

本拡張機能は、第三者のサービス、SDK、アクセス解析、広告ネットワーク、 トラッキングツールを一切利用しません。利用するのは Chrome のビルトイン API のみです。

8. 子どもの個人情報について

本拡張機能は 13 歳未満の利用者を対象とせず、いかなる利用者の個人情報も 故意に収集しません。
